Volunteer and make a positive contribution to your community
Volunteering on a Committee is a great way to get involved, provide input on important issues, and make a positive contribution to the community. The City welcomes applications from all City residents interested in volunteering their time and sharing their expertise and lived experiences. We seek a broad cross-section of applicants that reflect the City’s rich diversity and encourage applications from Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities and those of different ages, income levels, gender identities and backgrounds.

The City is currently accepting applications for the following advisory bodies:
Application Criteria
- be a resident of the City of North Vancouver *with the exception by special waiver from Council, or in the case of Indigenous applicants
- not be a current employee of the City of North Vancouver
- serve for the full term of the appointment

Time Commitment
Time requirements vary among Advisory Bodies, with most meeting in the evening 2-3 hours once per month. Generally, there are no meetings in July, August or December.
Compensation
As these are volunteer positions, Advisory Body members serve without remuneration.
Selection Process
All appointments are made in closed meetings by City Council from the end of November through to January. Appointment terms vary in accordance with the relevant Terms of Reference. You may only be appointed to one Advisory Body at a time, except for rare exceptions granted by Council. All applicants will receive a letter from Legislative Services once the appointments have been made.
