TransLink develops Area Transit Plans for each sub-region every five to 10 years. The North Shore Area Transit Plan (NSATP) which includes the District of North Vancouver, the City of North Vancouver, the District of West Vancouver, Bowen Island and the Village of Lions Bay was completed in the fall of 2012, following more than two years of public and stakeholder consultation, as well as detailed technical analysis.
The updated plan defines a 30-year vision for transit service and identifies priorities that can be implemented in the near, and medium, terms . The goal of the North Shore Area Transit Plan is a 50% increase in transit's current share of all North Shore travel by 2040.
