As the weather gets warmer, the risk of fire in our forests increases. We have a shared responsibility to make choices that don’t result in fires.
The Current Fire Danger Rating is BC’s official risk of a forest fire starting. The higher the risk, the more careful and vigilant we all have to be. Visit the BC Wildfire Activity Fire Danger webpage for more information.
A LOW fire rating means that fires may start easily and spread quickly but there will be minimal involvement of deeper fuel layers or larger fuels. Fires will likely self-extinguish and new ignitions are unlikely.
Fire ratings are provided as a convenience. BC's Fire Danger webpage is the source of the ratings and has the most accurate current rating.
