When and where are is Long Summer Nights?

Long Summer Nights is a free event series every Saturday from July 20 to August 17 at The Shipyards (125 Victory Ship Way) in the City of North Vancouver, BC. The first event. The Shipyards Fifth Anniversary Celebration, is from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., while all other events are from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Long Summer Nights is situated on the traditional and unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

There is fun for all ages at each Long Summer Nights event. We’re kicking off the series with The Shipyards Fifth Anniversary Celebration, stop by our Family & Youth Hub Zone featuring family-friendly music and activities and Kid’s First Art Zone with The Polygon Gallery.
Is the event rain or shine?

Yes, Long Summer Nights is an outdoor event series and will proceed rain or shine. If necessary, check the weather forecast and come prepared with appropriate attire such as sunscreen, hats, umbrellas, and rain jackets.

While we understand the love and companionship pets provide, we kindly request that attendees consider not bringing their dogs or other pets to the Long Summer Nights event series for the safety and well-being of both pets and attendees. Large crowds, loud noises, and unfamiliar environments can be stressful and overwhelming for animals. Additionally, navigating through dense crowds with a pet can pose safety risks for both the animal and other attendees.

What is the best way to get to The Shipyards? [+]
The best way to reach Long Summer Nights at The Shipyards is by public transportation, walking or cycling. The area is pedestrian-friendly with connecting trails and safe spaces to walk with friends and family.
Bike parking is located throughout the area and access is easy by transit, with the SeaBus arriving right at The Shipyards and bus connections nearby.

Hosted by The Foundry and North Shore Disability Resource Centre, The Snoezelen Mobile Sensory Unit will be on-site on July 20 to offer neurodiverse individuals, their families and caregivers space to enjoy a calm, relaxed atmosphere where they can take part in fun, safe activities with their own ‘bubble’. This is located along Museum Muse, just north of the Polygon Gallery.
