Did you know that some electric devices continue to draw energy even after you turn them off?
An energy meter can help you measure and track the amount of electricity consumed by various appliances and electronic devices in your home. Measuring your electricity consumption allows you to make simple changes that will help save you energy and money, quickly and easily.
The North Vancouver City Library offers two metering devices for loan:
- The Kill A Watt Meter measures how much electricity is used by your household appliances and other electronic devices. Simply plug in the portable meter and appliance or electronic device and see which one draws the most power.
- The PowerCost Monitor
taps into your electricity meter and measures the amount of energy your whole house uses. You'll see how much energy and money you can save, simply by turning off appliances or electronic devices that are not being used.
