Certified results of the City of North Vancouver’s current Alternative Approval Process (AAP) are now in. The process closed at 5 p.m. on April 22, 2024.
A total of 573 electors (1.35%) submitted valid forms through the AAP to oppose the $55.7 million loan authorization bylaw required for the purpose of borrowing for a new North Shore Neighbourhood House and the design and construction of two City-owned Parks (Kings Mill Walk Park and 1600 Eastern Park).
Under the APP, approval of the electors is obtained if the number of elector responses received is less than 10% of the number of electors within the City of North Vancouver (42,325).
Council will receive the certified AAP results at their regular meeting of May 6, 2024 and decide on proceeding with borrowing from the Municipal Finance Authority through the adoption of the Loan Authorization Bylaw.
