The City of North Vancouver is undertaking its annual spring cleanup at the North Vancouver Cemetery throughout April.
The North Vancouver Cemetery is committed to providing a beautiful space for people to remember, celebrate and honour their loved ones. Every spring in April, the City conducts a cemetery cleanup as part of our seasonal maintenance.
For the safety and enjoyment of all visitors and staff, only approved memorial adornments are allowed at the North Vancouver Cemetery.
Approved Adornments
The following items are approved for placement on in-ground burial lots and will be left in place during the spring cleanup.
- Fresh cut flowers: Placed directly on the surface of the burial lot or in an in-ground vase that is purchased from and installed by the City.
- Artificial flowers: Allowed only in an in-ground vase purchased from and installed by the City.
- Up to two small potted plants: In a plastic or biodegradable container that is no larger than 8 inches in diameter.
Items not listed above are not allowed anywhere in the cemetery and will be respectfully removed during this cleanup. Flowers and plants may also be removed once they are no longer in good condition.
Non-perishable items that are removed will be carefully stored at the cemetery office for three months. Visitors are asked to take items they wish to keep before April 1 or visit the cemetery office by July 1 to retrieve them.
This annual refresh helps us keep the cemetery clean, well-manicured and safe for all visitors and staff. Thank you for your cooperation.
