The City of North Vancouver is committed to listening to its community and consulting on important issues and challenges faced by its residents. Committees, Commissions, and Boards help shape policies and practices that are relevant to residents of the City of North Vancouver, while providing Council with valuable insights about their unique lived experiences and advice on how to best approach challenges and opportunities.
City of North Vancouver Advisory Bodies
This panel provides recommendations to Council on planning and development design concepts and reports on sign applications and major development proposals.

This commission advises council on aspects of community planning including the Official Community Plan (OCP), transportation planning, zoning bylaws, development permits, and more.

This board adjudicates appeals for minor variance to the Zoning Bylaw and rule on applications set out in the Local Government Act.

This committee provides a public forum for the citizens of the City and forms the foundation for a community-driven and community-focused collaborative approach to addressing public safety concerns in the community.

This commission advises Council on matters related to the City’s Heritage program.

This committee advises Council and City staff on transportation policy, planning and mobility issues within the City of North Vancouver.

This committee advises the Mayors, Councils and staff of the three North Shore municipalities on a wide range of issues affecting people with disabilities.

This board manages, regulates and controls the library service and carries out responsibilities associated with maintaining and supporting the existing library.

This commission serves as sole custodian of the City and District of North Vancouver's cultural, archival and museum collection, to facilitate and encourage a broad array of museum and archival services.

This inter-municipal management committee provides advice and recommendations on policing matters to the District and City Councils and the RCMP Officer in Charge, with semi-annual opportunities for the public to present as delegations.

This NVRC-managed committee develops policy, procedures and recommendations for the implementation of a Public Art Program for the City of North Vancouver.

This inter-municipal management commission facilitates and encourages community resource involvement and recreation opportunities to encourage the development potentials of physical, social, emotional, spiritual and intellectual being.

This committee advises Council on broad social, cultural and ethnic concerns that affect residents of the City of North Vancouver.
