Advisory Design Panel

Purpose: To make recommendations to Council on applications for renovations, additions or new construction for all development (except one-family and two-family residential developments) based on the relationship of the building(s) to one another, to the site and to other properties in the immediate vicinity. Other considerations for review include the mass and scale of the building(s), design consistency, landscape architecture, impact on neighbouring properties, type and quality of exterior finishing and crime prevention through environmental design.  The Advisory Design Panel also provides Council with recommendations on sign applications and major development proposals on public streets, parks and other public properties. 

Attention Architects & Landscape Architects: If you are applying to these categories applications must go through your accrediting association. Registered Architects should submit applications to aibc.ca and Landscape Architects should email landspace@telus.net.  Applications will be reviewed by the accrediting association and recommendations will be made to the City of North Vancouver for consideration.

Terms of office: Nine members serve a maximum of two terms of two years each, concluding on January 31
