Whether you are a young adult considering a career in law enforcement, a retiree looking for a way to use your skills and experience to give back to your community, a recent immigrant wanting to meet new people and get to know your new home or just someone who wants to help the police create safer, healthier neighbourhoods the North Vancouver RCMP has volunteer opportunities that will help you reach your goals while supporting the police working to reduce crime and enhance public safety.
The North Vancouver RCMP is now accepting applications some volunteer programs include:
- Business Link
- Citizens' Crime Watch
- Distracted Driving
- Home Vacation Check
- Intersection Watch
- Lock Out Auto Crime
- Speed Watch
In order to become a volunteer at an RCMP Community Policing Centre, applicants must be able to fulfill these minimum requirements:
- Be nineteen (19) years of age or older at the time of application.
- Commit to a minimum of one (1) year of service. Provide at least three (3) hours per week and be able to attend all required training sessions and meetings.
- Hold a valid BC Driver's Licence (required only if interested in programs that require the use of a Community Policing vehicle).
- Have and maintain a clean driving record for the past five (5) years.
- Must not be under investigation by any police force.
- Consent to a criminal record and background check.
- Take an Oath of Confidentiality.
- Have the ability to write and communicate well in the English language.
- Be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant.
