Looking for a warm drink and a place to relax while at The Shipyards this winter? The City of North Vancouver has opened a new Warming Hut, which will be open every weekend throughout the winter season, offering mulled wine, hot apple cider and non-alcoholic apple cider in a cozy cabin just west of the Skate Plaza, along with outdoor seating and fire pits.
“Over the holidays, we all want to fill our days with warm and cozy activities,” said Mayor Linda Buchanan. “That’s why I’m so pleased that the City is opening the Warming Hut at The Shipyards. This Nordic-style cabin setting, paired with mulled wine and other beverages, will bring holiday cheer and vibrancy to the area. I hope to see you there!”
The Warming Hut is licenced for all ages and seats 15 indoors with a staffed bar for a featured drink each day. Hot beverages can also be enjoyed within the surrounding gated outdoor seating area which accommodates 16, and includes fire pits to keep warm on winter evenings.
Hours of Operation
The Warming Hut will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until January 29, from 1 – 8 pm.
The week leading up to Christmas will be an exception, when it will be open Monday, December 19 through to Saturday, December 24, closing at 5 pm on Christmas Eve, and closed on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25. After Christmas, the Warming Hut will be open again on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until January 29, 2023.
