Beginning today, the City of North Vancouver invites residents, businesses, and visitors to help shape the future of Central Lonsdale through the Lonsdale Great Street Project. This initiative seeks to build on the strengths of Central Lonsdale as a dynamic and vibrant hub where residents and visitors can live, work, dine, shop, and gather.
"There are many reasons to love Central Lonsdale already," said City of North Vancouver Mayor Linda Buchanan. "But soon there will be even more with a vision to revitalize this neighbourhood. The Lonsdale Great Street Project is our opportunity to reimagine Central Lonsdale as a more vibrant, inclusive, and people-focused place by fostering connection, enhancing livability, and creating the optimal environment for new and existing businesses. We want to hear from residents, business owners, workers, and visitors to ensure this transformation reflects the needs and aspirations of everyone. This is an exciting time and together, we can create a destination that strengthens our city for generations to come."
Beginning January 10th, 2025 the public and organizations can get involved and share their experiences in the following ways.
- Complete a survey, between January 10 – 31, 2025 on Let's Talk CNV
- Attend in-person events: Meet with staff and share your input
- Civic Plaza Drop In
- January 17| Civic Plaza (126, 14th St) | 2 – 6 p.m.
- January 18| Civic Plaza (126, 14th St) | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Community Conversation
- February 20 | North Vancouver City Hall (141, 14th street) | 4 – 7 p.m.

About the Project
The Lonsdale Great Street Project spans four phases:
- Phase 1 – Listen & Learn | Fall 2024 – Winter 2025: Study the area and provide opportunities for the community to share their vision for the future of Central Lonsdale.
- Phase 2 – Develop Proposed Plan Directions | Spring 2025: Develop preliminary directions for the future of Central Lonsdale and share what has been learned from the public during Phase 1 engagement.
- Phase 3 – Share the Vision | Spring – Summer 2025: Share and test the project’s preliminary directions with the community.
- Phase 4 – Finalize the Plan | Summer – Fall 2025: Refine the plan and present to Council for endorsement.
About Central Lonsdale
Central Lonsdale is a vibrant main street at the heart of the City of North Vancouver, featuring diverse businesses, walkable spaces, and breathtaking views of the North Shore Mountains. The Project area extends from the Upper Levels Highway to Victoria Park and from St. Georges Avenue to Chesterfield Avenue.
